There is a reason hand-dipping is one of the oldest candle-making techniques in existence — it builds depth that pouring alone cannot achieve. The Tower Candle Hand-Dipped starts as a core of pure soy wax and is then dipped repeatedly by hand, layer by layer, building up the white and purple finish gradually until the colour has the kind of richness and texture that tells you immediately this was not made by a machine.

At 17cm tall, it stands as one of the most process-intensive candles in the House of Dhara collection. You can feel the difference the moment you hold it.

Most candles are poured once into a mould and set. The white and purple tones layer and blend where they meet, producing a finish that shifts slightly depending on the angle of the light. No two are identical. That is not a flaw — it is the entire value of the technique.

Burning it the right way

Trim the wick to 5mm before every burn — essential on a narrow tower candle where an oversized wick creates uneven heat distribution. Always burn it upright in a stable holder that supports the full height. Keep it completely away from draughts, which will cause the flame to lean and melt the layered surface unevenly. The hand-dipped finish is worth protecting — treat it accordingly.
